Hon John Glen MP John was appointed to the OBL Board in February 2026 to help strengthen the organisation’s strategic leadership as the open banking industry prepares for the introduction of the long‑term regulatory framework. He brings deep expertise in financial services policy and regulation, having served as Economic Secretary to the Treasury from 2018 to 2022. In this role, he oversaw the UK’s post‑Brexit financial services strategy, led work on regulatory reform, and managed the government’s relationships with the FCA and PRA to support innovation and global competitiveness. John also serves as the Member of Parliament for Salisbury, bringing deep public policy experience and insight into how government, regulators and industry can work together to drive real impact for the UK economy.
